Method 1:

For this method, you will need one other person to help you out. While one person is inside of the car aiming an air nozzle towards the edges of the windshield, the other person needs to pour soupy but luke warm water over the outside of the windshield around the trimmed area. Now, play close attention to the edge of the windshield. The Toronto auto glass experts say, if bubbles have formed, then that is where your leak is – as the air causes the bubbles to form.

Method 2:

You will also need an assistant for this method. While one person sits in the car, the other person should spray water out of a hose onto the trimmed area of the auto glass. The peson inside will then see where the water is coming in and this will assure you that your windshield seal is broken. 

Sealing Your Windshield Seal Leak

In order to seal leak, follow the steps below:

·         Remove the exterior trim once you know exactly where your windshield leak is.

·         Clean the channel under around the seal using an adhesive remover. (lighter fluid, rubbing alcohol, etc.)

·         After the old sealent has been removed, dry the area.

·         Apply the new sealent ensuring it is directed toward the windshield and under the seal.

·         Smooth over any rough areas
