EXPERT TIPS ON HOW TO PREVENT YOUR CAR WINDOWS FROM FOGGING

Window fog is every driver’s enemy. Can you imagine constantly being interrupted by window fog during your daily commute? If you’ve been in this situation before, or you are experiencing now, we understand your pain! Many Scarborough auto glass workers are often asked how to effectively prevent window fog from occurring – as such, we have decided to collectively piece together expert tips that have been provided to us by auto glass professionals all over the globe.

Tip 1: Keep Your Car Windows Clean

Many people are unaware that dirt build up can lead to foggy windows, as dirt is known as a base for moisture. In saying that, the more dirt you have – the more moisture will stick to it. Wiping both the interior and exterior areas of your windows will surely prevent the formation of fog from occurring. It is imperative for you to ensure you use cleaners that are specifically designed for auto glass, and stay away from anything that contains ammonia.
Tip 2: Wind Down Your Windows

Fresh air is always nice – and it’s even nicer when it can effectively prevent fog from forming on your windows. By allowing fresh air to enter your car, you are enabling the moisture to escape. In the summer time, your sweat undoubtedly contributes to the moisture that causes your windows to fog; hence, winding down your windows is a proven technique to prevent fog from appearing. You should also refrain from setting your AC on the recalculate feature as this will simply move that same moisture around your car instead of allowing it to escape.
Tip 3: Put Wet Items in Your Truck

Any damp items left inside your car will cause the air to be moist, which then leads to fog. It’s a wise idea to place all wet items in your trunk so that there is no chance of them creating fog. When it is snowing outside, many Scarborough auto glass experts advise their clients to kick as much snow off of their boots as possible before entering the car. You must remember, the less moisture, the better.

Tip 4: Use an Anti-Fog Coating
Anti-fog coatings are used many during the winter months and work extremely well at preventing fog from occurring. With a high-quality coating and your effort to prevent fog, you can guarantee winning the constant “driver vs. fog” battle! Anti-fogs coating are available for purchase at most auto glass shops and department stores.
Tip 5: Use a Dehumidifier
Dehumidifiers effectively remove moisture from the air – which is ultimately the key to preventing fog. They work quickly and efficiently at getting the job done. Investing in a dehumidifier is an excellent idea and they too can be found at your local auto glass shop.
